Little c

How cute is this! It tasted so delicious too, so different to those you buy in the shops. He is only a mini and has taken quite a while to get to this size, but honestly, not a blemish on him.

Our winter garden has been very slow this year, although I guess compared to the summer crops which just ran rampant, it's hard to compete. In the summer you're also keen to be out there, tend to the veg a bit more conscientiously. In the winter it's so wet, your mind isn't on weeding, feeding, chatting and cosetting your little guys. I am looking forward to the warmer months though, it's getting close to that time and I'm going to take over a lot more of the front garden for little beds everywhere. So far there will be zuchs, eggplants, basil a plenty, four varieties of tomatoes, lettuces of varying kinds, a bed dedicated to strawberries and that's as far as I've gotten so far. I want to be sure that there is actually enough planted to influence what we buy. I'm realistic with the space we have, but it's frustrating when something goes really well and you only put in six plants, equally so if you put in more and they're rubbish. Open to suggestions too, what are you planting?

We have very good crops this summer—eggplant, three kinds of tomatoes,Thai basil, Italian basil, parsley, and Chinese long beans. We've made so much pesto with the Italian basil and put vats of it in the freezer for future meals. Yummmm! In the winter, we don't grow as much, just lettuce and snap peas. Happy gardening and thanks for buying my seed envelopes. I hope they are useful!

Your cauli is lovely. I was so chuffed with my brocolli this year only to find it had these tiny camouflaged insects over the whole crop!!!!!
We dont have a bit patch either but it isn amazing what you can grow. My crop this year was pretty sad though with the lack of watering allowed. Veges really need to be watered every day. We grew parsley, lettuce, rocket, basil, eggplant, zuchini (although these got wilt!) and I really love the mixed punnet of capsicum, though they need to be planted early for a long summer. Corn is a waste of time without stacks of water and I have loved planting potatoes in an unused part of the garden. Good luck. Lots of cow manure for a rich soil is also another tip I would recommend.

He's beautiful!

My planting this year did not work out as planned--better luck next year, I hope!

It looks so healthy! We never have this beautiful vegetables in our garden, probably it is too wet and all kinds of animals visit delicious plants.
What I also grow is parsley, chives, carrots, red beets, peas, leek and beans but we are on the Northern hemisphere, so I am not sure that this applies to your part of the world too. Well, there's sure lots of weeds all the time!

Well here in Tassie our crop is only slightly more delayed than you. Never tried eggplant but this coming month I hope to double our vegie plot and start planting seeds/seedlings for the spring/summer. I have no cauli showing yet in my crop (lucky you!). My brocolli must be a different type to yours as yours look alot more fuller....
